/hihi readers,
Today I have been to the Leonardo Da vinci exhibition at Southbank. It was really cool because they had models of the inventions that he designed. Some you weren't allowed to touch and others you could. Here I have a few of the inventions names and descriptions.
Crane For Lifting Long Poles
While this machine is obviously designed to make it lift a pole upright. A rope connected to the winch pulls the base of the long pole towards the centre of the crane, until the pole stands upright. The wheels at the base of the pole ensure that it is pulled along easily and smoothly.
Column Hoist
Powered by turning a crank at the top, which twists the worm screw attached to the column upwards, thereby raising the column.
Naval Tank
Circular platform on which is mounted a series of symmetrically opposed cannons.
Naval Cannon
Large square cannon attached to a revolving platform.
The Scorpion
Large scythes to damage and cut off enemy masts.
That is all the info I could write down when we were there I hope it encourages any who want to see it.
